Tigers are exceedingly rare. They're also very solitary creatures. So why are there 11 of them gathered in this photograph?
These aren't your typical tigers. The cats you see here live in China's Heilongjiang Northeast Tiger Forest Park, the largest Siberian tiger breeding base on Earth. When it was founded in the mid eighties, the Park had only 8 tigers. Today, that number is estimated by some to be upwards of 800.

That's the point, the tigers are flourishing there, and there are more tigers here than in the wild. Amur tigers are extremely becoming extinct. I understand if you have to check it out more Patrick, and let me know if you find out more. They have the tigers chase cattle, and throw chickens at them to eat. Thanks for signing Pauline.

maybe they should be made to change their methods of feeding the cats ! something a little more humane :) not close them down

You do have a very important point there Pauline. If the tigers there are treated and fed right, they will have a better life there. My husband asked where will the tigers go if it shuts down. I really need to think these things through before publishing a petition. Thanks for your sincerity Pauline and Patrick. Really helps a lot:)
