The baby beaver is adorable. The bison and orcas are cool.

Ruth, I just looked at the numbers and it appears that we are averaging between 10,000 and 15,000 new cases a day (since Sept 1). Sadly, also between 25 to 50 deaths each day. No one is talking about this current uptick.

Gayle I hope the Paxlovid helps is that what Tom was on?I will  be praying for a speedy recovery for both of you ,glad Tom is doing better  Ruth how are you? Hope the medication you are taking will make you feel better, and get well soon, Mandi. I'm sure you're getting a lot of rest, which is good too. Glad Tom is doing better now. I think that's a gray fox.

Will keep a look out for covid' updates, Patrick. When will it fully go away. I thought it was gone forever. Wow, what was I thinking. So far no mandatory mask here even for medical places. Maybe taking time in different states? Aww, nothing like Mama tiger lickin. Thinking of Gizmo lately. Roars!

A heatwave there, Mary. Maybe rain there soon like always does. A little warmer again, but not hot here. Most days feeling like Fall coming around the corner. Precious Mama beaver with feeding babies, and cute baby skunks.

How are you feeling Gayle? The 2 weeks+ I was so sick, might have been Covid, but I didn't spike a temperature. However, I had a lot of respiratory distress. What are your symptoms?

Sorry about the heatwave Mary. Hi Ruth, we are thinking of Gizmo as well. It was a year ago, Sept 6, that we took him to National Tiger. It was a year ago today that we closed the doors on the sanctuary.

I didn't mention it on Facebook, but Gizmo was euthanized just before Christmas. They said he had a brain tumor. I was (and still am) too hurt to go into details.

Have a nice Sat. Today is Karen's birthday, so we are going out to dinner, maybe listen to a band next door (if it's a good one).

It is soooo sad Gizmo is gone. Hope he wasn't in too much pain with the tumor. He will always be in all our hearts. All of your big cats, kitties, and doggies who lived at your place there, will be too. I can't believe it's been a year since both of you left for the sea. Love photo of Gizmo. Roars!

Thank you for the sentiments for Gizmo, I loved him dearly (and vice versa). I never knew the date he was euthanized. I keep thinking that maybe he would have lived longer had I not gave him up.
However, in fairness to the sanctuary that took him, I had noticed him staring off,, or jumping as though he saw/heard something,,, prior to leaving our place and going to them. That was most likely a sign that something was wrong.

I'm sad I wasn't with him on his last day. On the other hand, I was spared seeing him go and having to bury him. I buried many old animal friends during the 32 years of the sanctuary.

I dearly wish you to get better soon Gayle. Same with Tom. Everyone I've known that had Covid, took awhile for recovery.

Thank you all for caring about us with our Covid, I am have a rough day. Tom is doing much better. Patrick I feel for  your loss of Gizmo very much   ty Mary and Ruth I need to get off here.. Voted enjoy Sunday.
