Steve is one of the few australians who have crossed the regional barrier to be recognised and a global citizen in the work that they were pursuing. Watching this person in action was like " Are you out of your *####*** mind ? "

But then you slowly realise that this is not a gimmick or stunt that a showman is trying to pull, there is in fact a deep rooted passion for animals that is driving him to work on preserving them. Its been over 3 years since we lost Steve, but the passion seems to be carried forward by Bindi and Bob with same vigor.

Australian Zoo at Queensland, even though has lost its first citizen, seems to be banking on the passion and inspiration that he has passed on to his kids. His trade mark of khakhi shorts and chirpy tone with tons of energy is something hard to forget.

May the spirit and passion of "Crikey " pass to all entrepruneurs in making for all that you are striving for.

On December 5, 2007 just before the 2007-2008 Antarctic Whale Defense Campaign: Operation Migaloo began to defend the whales of the Southern Oceans, the Sea Shepherd vessel M/Y Robert Hunter was officially re-named the Steve Irwin in honor of the late Australian conservationist. The name change was announced at a press conference by Irwin's widow Terri Irwin and Captain Paul Watson at the Melbourne Docklands just prior to the ship's departure to the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary.

Sea Shepherd is proud to partner with Terri Irwin for this name change as she and Steve have been world renowned for their conservation work. At the press conference, Terri stated that Steve would have been extremely honored to be acknowledged in this way as he shared Sea Shepherd's passion for saving whales.
"Whales have always been in Steve's heart and in 2006 he was investigating the possibility of joining the Sea Shepherd on part of its journey to defend these beautiful animals," Terri said

I was almost sure I had already singed this petition. The site informed me that I indeed had.
