Thank you, and welcome, to the new members of this group. I rarely send invites, but made an exception for this WCN Group.

This group is for those people who care about the equatorial rainforests. These jungle areas are the "lungs of the world" (everyone likes to breathe, right?). They are also "bio-hotspots" meaning they have tremendous diversity of lifeforms, many being endangered and/or threatened due to human encroachment.

Touch The Jungle is a real rainforest program, with real people, and real rainforest. While many organizations talk the talk about rainforest preservation, they don't walk the walk. They are simply advocacy only. Touch The Jungle "walks the walk"!

Touch The Jungle is about preserving 2 real 25,000 acre tracts of rainforest. Working with local villages and partnering with them to provide eco-tourism programs, rather than caving into giant mining and timbering companies who, quite frankly, rape rainforests.

We invite you to get to know those involved, and even the people in the villages. This program is so real, you can actually go to Ecuador for 10 days and have the adventure of a lifetime (inexpensively). You can meet the villagers discussed here, and find they treat visitors like royalty.

If you are unable to visit there anytime soon, you can still help. You can help financially (every penny helps) or assist in getting out the word on what an awesome program Touch The Jungle is.

Thank you so much for thinking of me.
Margays are my love and my heart!
I was able to adopt a Margay and spent my life around him.
I miss him.

Aw, sorry about your weather CATMAN, we have a high of -27 today. LOLYes, PDO and then back to Otavalo for the animal market and the huge Saturday market.  Then we leave for Intag, which consists of staying in Apuela for 3 nights (horseback riding and hotsprings)and then to San Antonio for 2 nights in the mountain farming country.  Which backs on to the same reserve as PDO but from the other side(only 4 wheel drive this time of year) and we are back Otavalo for a night and then we leave to go to Mindo, (birds and butterflies and tubing) along the way stopping at the equator tourist spots. We will be gone for 18 days, but people can come on the trips and only go to PDO or PDO and Intag.   But, once you have paid your air fare you might as well stay a bit longer.     Grace
