Irwin stalker sent to jail
A STALKER who admitted harassing Steve Irwin's widow told police he felt Terri Irwin should "get a life and move on" after the death of her husband.
Alexander Duncan Davidson, 71, was jailed for at least four months over a series of bizarre letters and stalking incidents over the past two years.
Melbourne Magistrates' Court heard Davidson was a "very unusual man" who had little remorse for Ms Irwin and his other victims.
Davidson also sent a Christmas card to Northcote police last year addressed to "the murderers", because he was angry after the fatal shooting of teenager Tyler Cassidy.
He also admitted waging a six-month hate campaign against a neighbour who irked him by dropping pine needles from her Christmas tree in the foyer of their Toorak apartment block.
The court heard Davidson fired off a nasty letter to Ms Irwin in December 2007 after seeing a Herald Sun article about her hope of talking with her husband's spirit through a famous psychic.
On a tear-out of the story he wrote an offensive message and that he was tired of seeing her on the media.
At the bottom of the letter - which also threatened Irwin's daughter Bindi - he signed his name and phone number. Ms Irwin received the letter and handed it over to Queensland police.
When asked why he sent the letter he said, "I think she should get a life and move on."
He said he did not think about how it would affect Ms Irwin or her daughter.
The court heard Davidson had appointed himself unofficial caretaker of his building and was obsessive.

I tend to agree with the first poster. I don’t see Terri remarrying…The love Terri and Steve had between each other was very special and uncommon. I recall watching 20/20, I believe it was. Where she described the first time that they had met. I remember her saying how later that evening, she had this overwhelming sensation of wanting to build a camp fire and sit with him all through the night listening to him tell her about his adventures and experiences. I think those two had a divine appointment with one another, they were most definitely brought together by God. My heart broke for Terrie when she lost her husband. They were truly soulmates. Many people claim to have or be someone’s soulmate, but those two were genuine.
Now, for the stalker. This guy has some serious issue, I don’t understand how he can be so callous? I seriously think he may need sociological counseling in addition to his jail sentence.
